Today I read an article about women transitioning from college to their careers and the difficulties associated with the change. This article says that many women are still feeling like they are second to men in the workforce. They undergo lower salaries, sexual harassment, and exclusion. I think that our world has come so far that we would be able to treat everybody equal. I believe that women don't deserve to be treated like this at all. They should be treated better then men, especially when they raise kids, cook, clean, etc. The fact that everybody isn't treated equally in our society is just wrong. I'm sure some companies are doing their best to make sure this happens, but obviously some are not. I believe that the government should step in and do something about this before it becomes irreversible.

Outside Reading Post #3
Today I decided to read up on the native people of Australia, also commonly known as Aborigines. Personally I think Australia is really cool so I wanted to know more about the people. The Aborigine people migrated from Asia around 30,000 years ago. They brought their art, culture, and music with them. One instrument they used to make music was the didgeridoo. I happen to own one of these and find it to be a really cool sounding instrument. It is basically a hollow piece of wood that you blow through with chopping lips to create a low resonating note. The tone and sound can be changed by moving your lips in certain ways. From experience, I think it's really fun to play and it is supposed to prevent snoring as well. Anyways, I think the Aborigine people's culture include some very cool elements.

Today I read an article about a 10 year old boy from here who decided to amputate one of his legs after being born with "webbed like" knees. This may not sound like a big deal, but it became inspirational when he decided he wanted his other leg removed as well. This boy has made a decision that men 3 times his age would be absolutely terrified to face. Amputating one leg is one story, amputating the other is just inspiring. I think that this boy has and will inspire people. He has shown us that life can be lived through anything. Hopefully people will actually realize that this boy has permanently disabled himself to live a better life.

Today I read an article about some of our recent natural disasters. Many people think that some disasters happen in related clusters but scientists say they are completely normal and this is the amount of activity that is standard for our planet. I think that these occurences really show us how strange and unknown our world is. Although some people may know how earthquakes or hurricanes happen, nobody knows the real answer for why they happen. The fact that hot lava comes shooting out of our core or a monstrous storm can just happen is just strange to me. I think in the future, we are going to be able to predict and eventually prevent these natural disasters from happening and potentially killing people.
